Many thanks to all those parents that came to school last Friday to see what the children had been up to in their music and art lessons. It was lovely to share with you some of the music we have been doing in class, from whole school to class songs to solos. Great to be able to play our ukuleles and our guitars to you—a great addition to the Fordcombe curriculum. Lovely too, to listen to the poetry children at the top of the school had written based on their learning around the book, Rooftoppers. Lastly, it is always lovely to see parents wandering in and out of classes looking at the pupil’s art and Design and Technology projects—a lot of sewing and stitching of late! Thank you for supporting the children to create an art project around the theme of our vision—’Shining in God’s Light’.
Day 2 at Carroty Wood. What glorious weather they are having.
Great to watch twenty pupils from Fordcombe compete in the local school’s cross-country competition last Tuesday. Lovely too, that once again, it was Fordcombe parents that organised the event for the six other schools. An enjoyable afternoon of sport around the field at Hever. Well done Len who won the Y5 and 6 race.
Congratulations to Arthur for coming out on top with the most points over the course of the term in the morning Pokémon club.
Lovely to see fifteen children compete in the local school’s Tag Rugby tournament held at Tonbridge Juddians. Great to be able to report that the children won the competition, bringing the trophy back to school. Oscar (Tag Rugby Captain) went up to receive the trophy after an outstanding team performance from everyone.
Fordcombe pupils look amazing across the school today as we celebrate World Book Day.
