Thank you for the food donations for Nourish our local foodbank. The reasons that families rely on foodbanks are many but despite living in a fairly affluential part of the country, Nourish do deliver regularly to families in Fordcombe and nearby areas when they cannot afford to put food on the table.

The whole school took the afternoon to walk across the cricket pitch to Stone Cross and back last Wednesday. It was a great afternoon with the Y6 Buddies leading the new Reception pupils along the path with the rest of the school following on behind. We took our coats but in the end didn’t need them. It was a beautiful afternoon’s activity that fitted well into our Well-Being themed week. Many thanks to the parents that accompanied us across the fields and to all those that helped raise money, all of which will be spent on your children and the arts offer that they get from us.
The team of eight Year 5 and 6 pupils travelled to Sevenoaks Hockey Club to play against other schools last Monday. All impressed and had a great time and all were better at the end of the competition than they were at the start. We won a few, drew a few and lost a few. Well done to the group for getting into the top part of the draw with all the stronger teams.
Six members of Year 3 and 4 visited Sevenoaks Hockey Club to play against other local schools. Well done all for getting stuck in and showing perseverance and for enjoying the afternoon of sport in a really high-quality venue.
