  • Elm Class visit Lynne Farm

    Thu 19 Sep 2024

Elm Class took a trip to Lynne Organic Farm last week, to learn how this small-holding manages
very much ‘off-grid’. They generate their own electricity, use rain water and as far as possible, aim to farm sustainably with minimal impact on the environment. A great trip for the pupils to find out about aspects of farming and technology linking to the science and geography curriculum.

  • Arts Festival - Dragon takes flight

    Mon 01 Jul 2024

We hope that everyone got the chance to look at the dragon gracing the ceiling area at one end of the school hall. Parents will get another opportunity to view the dragon in up-coming events at school. The pupils and the teaching team, enjoyed how this project came together, all funded by the generosity of those parents that helped out and gave their time at the top of Spring Hill during the Tunbridge Wells half-marathon: thank you.

  • Fordcombe run local schools’ Cross-Country tournament

    Tue 11 Jun 2024

Twenty pupils from school took part in the cross-country races at Chiddingstone last Tuesday. It was a great afternoon of athletic endeavour with all the children persevering to complete their races. Well done Len, who won the Y5 and 6 boys’ race. Well done to the Year 5/6 Boys team who came third in their team race: lovely to come back to school with some silverware. Many thanks to Godfrey Pain, Chloe Archard, Inha Melnykova, Lorna Townsend and Fran Lawton who helped marshall the event: this would not have run so smoothly without your help. It is lovely that the Fordcombe community can support sport in local schools like this: thank you.

  • Year 5 + 6 Athletics Tournament

    Mon 10 Jun 2024

Pupils from Years 5 and 6 visited Sevenoaks School to take part in an athletics tournament last week. The children did an amazing job. Well done to Albie for winning a silver medal in the Boys 100m race. We had a great time – all the pupils performed really well against some great athletes from other schools. Many thanks to those parents that came to support.

  • Year 2 + 3 Athletics Tournament

    Wed 05 Jun 2024

10 pupils from Years 2 and 3 recently went to Sevenoaks School to undertake running, throwing and jumping activities around the track. A great afternoon of activity and for all of the children it was the first time they had run around a proper track. Well done to Amy and Finn who ran the 600m race: great perseverance and resilience to finish this race. Thank you to the parents who ferried the children

  • Lambs!

    Wed 22 May 2024

Many thanks to Lorna Townsend who kindly brought in two lambs who the children could feed and see the wonder of the season up close. A huge hit on the playground with the children, it was lovely too to see the children from Fordcombe Nursery pop across and make a visit to our school. A good starting point for respectful relationships and how to care for others.
