Book Week at Fordcombe

There was much going on at Fordcombe during our annual Book Week celebrations.

All pupils took part in drama workshops to create characters and a plot to weave into a story. At the end of the day everyone gathered to see where Paul had got to on his space adventure. He returned to Earth to find he had gained a parking ticket and his Mum was not happy!

Pupils were stopped in their tracks on Tuesday and challenged to read for 10 minutes every time they heard the bell ring! All children took part in the Book Swap and small groups of children looked for new places to sit and read around the school during the Book Safari.

Thanks to everyone that supplied cakes for the Book Week Cake Sale—your efforts raised close to £150 for books to put into book corners in classrooms.

It was great to see so many parents in school to watch the Book Character Parade. There were many characters represented and it was a lovely way to finish a really engaging and inspiring Book Week.
