History

Learning about history in Primary education is fundamental to helping the future generations understand why things are the way they are today. This heightened interest and enjoyment in exploring the past, leads to development of critical thinking about ancestry and origins and better enables students to be active, informed and responsible citizens.

 

At Fordcombe we believe it is important that our pupils have a good understanding of the various periods of history, in combination with a good clear understanding of the chronology of the history of our world, to understand how our world has progressed, and regressed in it's development of societal thinking, culture and knowledge.
