Severe Weather Procedure

The School will stay open if at all possible when there is severe weather such as deep/drifting snow, very high winds, widespread flooding.

Parents have the responsibility of getting children to and from school safely and need to decide if the journey is safe when severe weather affects transport and/or walking conditions. Parents should inform the school if their child is absent due to severe conditions making the journey unsafe.

If the school needs to close, the school will send an email to all parents.

A message will also go out on local radio if the decision is made before 8am. This is given out on BBC Radio Kent, Heart FM Radio (formally Invicta FM) and KMFM Radio.

On the rare occasion school closes at a time within the school day we will contact parents via email.
