St Peter's Church in Fordcombe was built in 1848 by Field Marshal Henry Hardinge the first Viscount Hardinge who was a British field marshal and became Governor-general of India. Fordcombe CE Primary School have always been very close to St Peter's and our links with the Church and the Diocese continue to be central to all that we do in the school.
Our Church Garden Party is a wonderful representation of the School and Church working together and a fun event for all concerned. Rev. Tom Holme comes into school to talk to the children during acts of worship and officiates at our church services. He also supports the
school by being a governor.
Children continue to enjoy the visits of Children’s Workshop and the monthly Family Services in St. Peter’s are well attended with a wide
range of pupils taking part. The school services such as Harvest, Christmas and Easter are equally well attended by parents as they come to join with the pupils in worship at these important times.
A governor and parent of the school has set up a monthly Sunday Club for children. This has been running for over two years and is proving increasingly popular. The parents have also set up a monthly prayer group.
