Up, up and away…Butterflies in Oak Class

After a few days of watching the tiny miracle of change from caterpillar to butterfly, Oak Class pupils said good-bye to their Painted Lady charges as they flew off into the sunshine.

As part of their science studies of Life Cycles, the children have watched the chrysalis form and then cared for the emerging butterflies, feeding them fruit and flowers. Some pupils have named the butterflies (Cupcake, Dobby amongst others!) and some have been filming the changes, hoping to make a time lapse animation.

It has been an extremely interesting project for us all.
