This week sees 'Parliament' come to Fordcombe.
So far, the pupils have learned about the 3 parts that make up Parliament (ask your child if they remember what they are).
Mrs Watling taught the whole school about the idea of 'fairness' and how this is the building block of democracy.
Oak class were lucky enough to have a visit from some Year 11 Politics students from Sevenoaks School. The students ran a fantastic debate workshop and everyone learned about the importance of expressing opinions using evidence and facts.
We were very privileged to host a visit from the Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress of Royal Tunbridge Wells. The children had some very thoughtful questions for them. The week ends with a visit from Tom Tugendhat, MP.
All the classes have been busy learning about the Government, debating, making laws and voting. We will let you know the results of our in-school campaigns and elections soon!
