After one or two trial runs last week, this is the first week that the library will be up and running for all pupils. Library books will start coming home in book bags from this week. Please ensure that library books are looked after at home and that they are returned in book bags on the correct day. To get this far, involving moving the entire library, renovating the new library space, sorting through current stock and removing unsuitable books, re-categorising the library and putting new stock onto the system has been a huge task.
From school, this has involved a huge amount of effort from Mrs Watling, Mrs Broad and Ms Peel as well as unwavering support from a number of parents who have worked tirelessly to prepare the library for the benefit of the pupils. Many thanks to Racheal Jepps, Kim Smith, Sophie Dean, Helen Jenner, Sarah Barker and anyone else that has given their time. Many thanks also to Nick Weaver for his help with the planning and building work. If you have had the opportunity to visit the library recently, hopefully you can see in real concrete terms, the vision that all the governors and staff share for Fordcombe as a vibrant, exciting place to be and to learn.
