Fairtrade Stall

As the final part of a fortnight’s learning about the Fairtrade movement, Elm class pupils participated in a Fairtrade sale on Friday afternoon in the hall. Thanks to all those parents who attended and bought Fairtrade produce: the totals are listed below.

Fairtrade is one of a number of charities that the school has supported over the past twelve months, with pupils learning about diversity and the community that we live in whether this be the local community (supporting homelessness in Croydon through Pennies4Porchlights charity) or the global community (through charities such as WaterAid and Fairtrade).

Many thanks to all the Elm class children and parents that made cakes to sell at the sale. The sales totalled £372 which means communities all over the world have been helped to fight poverty through trade. There was also £31.16 raised in donations for cake sales - this amount will be doubled by the government and given to Traidcraft's 'Fair Necessities Appeal'.
