Elm Class get muddy

To get them thinking about habitats, Elm Class went to Bough Beech Reservoir on an exploration of creatures. First, they went pond-dipping and used classification keys to identify what they had caught. Highlights included a toad, some newts, water boatmen and caddisfly larvae. They spent the rest of the day exploring different habitats thinking about what the needs were of each creature and how the plants and animals linked together in the food chain.
