Lights! Camera! Action! Pupils in Ash, Beech, Elm and Oak impressed with their acting and singing talents on Monday and Tuesday as performances of the Infant and Junior nativities took place. The singing was a real highlight (organised largely by Mrs Hughes) and both plays left us in no doubt that the real meaning of Christmas is peace, joy, love and hope.
The younger pupils performed a traditional version of the nativity complete with camels, sheep and the donkey. Almost everyone had at least a line or two, including pupils in Reception class. A solo (sung by Grace G.), added drama to the performance which came with some super dancing and acting.
The older pupils led us in a rock n’roll version of the nativity, with shepherds substituted for rockers and angels substituted for 50’s style high school girls complete with neckerchiefs and frilly skirts. Despite this change of scene, the message could not be clearer: that the baby Jesus was sent to be the light of the world and be a guide to us all. Highlights included two solos from pupils in Oak, accompanied by groups of singers and the entire chorus: a stunning end to the school year.
