On Friday morning, all the children at school shared the poetry that they had written through the week with our poet in residence, Tony Peek.
It was lovely to see the range and creativity of their work as the top and bottom of the school shared what they had done.
During the week we had a reading safari where children could go and read with older or younger members of the school, a very successful book swap, a teacher swap where teachers visited other classes to read their favourite children’s books, a poetry recital and then finally, the Book Character Parade.
A lovely end to the week that really showed that everyone at school values books and reading for pleasure. A big thank you to Mrs Watling for organising such a fabulous week.
