Beech Class started their new topic ‘Who has called Africa their home?’ on Thursday afternoon. They entered the classroom to African music and the new questions written on the board. Following this they were introduced to the continent by David Attenborough, they then watched 'The Lion King' to set the scene. The children were also lucky enough to have some special treats to enjoy!
On Monday, Mrs Barker came into Beech Class with a selection of African artefacts she had collected from her time spent in Kenya.
Everyone was able to try on the traditional outfits and a beaded necklace. They also looked at photographs and tried some 'jump dancing'. Mrs Treutenaere played some African music from Miriam Makeba. It was amazing to listen to the different sounds.
