14 very excited children climbed aboard the train at Tunbridge Wells station on Tuesday morning. On arrival at Hastings we jumped on the bus down to the aquarium. The children were able to look at many different varieties of fish and sea life, some of which we have been learning about in class. We walked through the underwater tunnel gazing at the colourful fish and sharks swimming above us before settling in front of the giant tank to draw some of our favourite fish. After stopping for lunch in the café, we headed to the beach. The children battled the strong winds to keep their sketchbooks open to draw pictures of their surroundings. We also each collected a pebble which we will use as part of our village fete craft entry for September. The heavens then opened so we ran back to the aquarium for a second visit rather than a walk along the seafront. We finished the day with an ice-cream whilst waiting for the bus back to the station. Thank you so much to the parent volunteers, this trip wouldn't have gone as smoothly without you!
