A Great Greek Day in Oak Class

Oak Class pupils enjoyed a really great Greek Day when the Living History Workshop visited Fordcombe School.

Suitably attired in Greek tunics and sashes (strictly no trousers on show), the children re-enacted the comings and goings of the ancient Greek market place or Agora, excelled in the then - celebrated sport of Bull-leaping and carved their own Greek plaques.

In the afternoon, the pupils learnt to march Spartan-style, stage an amazing piece of musical theatre and finally show their strength in the Olympic sport of thumb-wrestling! All this and the chance to view some genuine ancient Greek artefacts.

The photos show what an exciting and informative time we had.

Many thanks to Mrs Watling for organising a wonderful day.
